"The Provincial Government of Luanda (GPL) informs residents and the general public that, as part of the Bastille Day celebrations, promoted by the French Embassy in Angola, a fireworks display will be held at Largo das Escolas, located in the Maianga municipality," reads a statement from the GPL, seen by VerAngola.
The display will begin at 8:00 pm this Monday.
"The fireworks display will take place this Monday, July 14th, between 8:00 pm and 9:00 pm, with a maximum duration of five minutes," the statement reads.
According to the GPL, the activity was authorized "based on a favorable technical opinion from the Maianga Municipal Command and the Civil Protection and Fire Services, after an inspection of the site, ensuring all the safety conditions required for this type of event".
Therefore, the Government of Luanda "appeals to the understanding and collaboration of all citizens, recommending that, during this period, they avoid unnecessary approaches to the security perimeter and maintain calm, as this is an official celebration, organized with due care."
