Presented by é-Kwanza at the 40th edition of the Angola International Fair (Filda), the new card represents a "pioneering solution in the national financial system that will allow, for the first time, any citizen to make payments across the entire Multicaixa network without the need for a bank account."
Called the 'Cartão Multicaixa é-Kwanza', this instrument operates through a prepayment system.
Furthermore, this card also makes life easier for users, as they don't need a bank account and can manage the card anywhere, through the é-Kwanza mobile or web app.
"The new é-Kwanza card is a physical, prepaid card, managed entirely through the é-Kwanza mobile or web app," representing "a firm step in democratizing access to digital financial services," according to a statement sent to VerAngola.
"In a context where more than half of the Angolan population remains outside the traditional banking system, this solution was designed with citizens working in the informal sector in mind and who, until now, had no access to a payment method," the statement reads.
Citizens will be able to make purchases, payments, manage balances, and control transactions with this card, which can be reloaded.
"With this card, it will be possible to make purchases, payments, manage balances, and control transactions on the card, allowing for reloading in a simple, secure, and hassle-free manner," the statement states.
This card will be made available to the public in the last quarter of this year through "a broad network of agents and commercial partners, shopping malls, supermarkets, department stores, and é-Kwanza agents, ensuring widespread use and convenience for users."
According to Pay4all Marketing Director Madalena Pisoeiro, the card is not just a product; it represents "social and financial inclusion."
"The Multicaixa é-Kwanza Card is more than a technological product; it's a tool for social and financial inclusion," said Madalena Pisoeiro.
"We want to ensure that everyone, regardless of their income level or geographic location, can access the benefits of digital financial services and payment methods," she added.
"The Multicaixa é-Kwanza Card is for everyone" is the slogan for this product, which, according to the statement, due to its "simple management via app or web and the absence of in-person processes," makes it accessible, "even for users with little familiarity with banking services."
