According to a statement from CIPRA, to which VerAngola had access, the television channel intends to "improve collaboration and expand cooperation with Angola in the area of training social communication professionals".

Speaking at the end of the meeting – held at the Presidential Palace, in Luanda – the vice-president of CNN Internacional informed that the meeting served to talk about the "possibility of strengthening cooperation in the area of advertising, in which there is already a partnership agreement strategy a few months ago".

On the occasion, the person in charge said that he also spoke with João Lourenço about the possibility of having a CNN correspondent present in Angola.

"This is an issue that has, in fact, been addressed and we certainly have not yet reached any consensus", stated the vice-president, who, quoted in the note, added "that CNN sees Africa as a potential continent to expand its service".

Meeting with religious leaders

In addition to the audience with Konstantinos Oikonomou, this Wednesday, the President of the Republic also held a collective meeting with eight religious leaders.

At the hearing, which took place late Wednesday afternoon, "issues of a social nature, of interest to the population" were addressed, said the Presidency of the Republic, in a note to which VerAngola had access.

Present at the meeting were Bishop Dom Afonso Nunes, from the Church of Our Lord Jesus Christ in the World (Tocoísta); Reverend Alexandre Saul, from the General Alliance of the Evangelical Alliance of Angola; the Reverend Vladimir Agostinho, from the Council of Christian Churches in Angola; as well as Bishop Alberto Segunda, from the Church of the Kingdom of God in Angola.

Also joining this list are Bishop Antunes Fernando Huambo, from the Church of Christian Communion of Angola; Kissoloquele Kiangane Paul, from the Kimbanguista Church in Angola; Apostle Víctor David Segunda, of the Eternal Sanctified United Church of Angola; and also Pastor Teixeira Mateus Vinte, from the 7th Day Adventist Church.

On that occasion, according to CIPRA, the religious asked the head of state for support in recognizing "some schools and institutes of theological training, given that many theologians have documents without approval from the National Institute for Assessment, Accreditation and Recognition of Higher Education Studies (INAAREES)".

The allocation of land for the construction of social infrastructure, as well as the fact that they requested "more attention to the promotion of family farming", were also other topics discussed.
