Five investment contracts, totaling more than 330 million dollars, were signed this Wednesday by the Private Investment and Export Promotion Agency (AIPEX), in a session attended by the Minister of Transport, Ricardo D' Abreu, and the Secretaries of State for Forests and Industry, João da Cunha and Carlos Rodrigues, respectively.

The documents now signed are aimed at the fields of civil construction and public works, agriculture, industry and service provision, as well as maintenance and commercial operation of the multipurpose container and general cargo terminal at the Port of Lobito, writes Jornal de Angola.

The contracts correspond to a total investment of 330,842,166 dollars.

Furthermore, they are expected to create 3496 jobs, the majority of which (3286) for national citizens, while the remaining 210 are intended for expatriates, says a press release, cited by Jornal de Angola.

It is worth remembering that AIPEX aims, among other aspects, to promote and attract "private investments of internal and external origin capable of contributing to the socioeconomic development" of the country.
