In a statement, to which VerAngola had access, the company informs that the most recent discovery concerns a white diamond of 180 carats.
"Lucapa Diamond Company Limited, together with our partners at Lulo, Endiama and Rosas & Pétalas, are pleased to announce the recovery of a 180-carat Type IIa white diamond from the Lulo alluvial mine in Angola", reads the statement.
The Lucapa Diamond Company also says that this is the 37th stone weighing more than 100 carats to be discovered in that mine. "It is the 37th diamond weighing over 100 carats to be recovered from the Lulo alluvial mine", reads the note.
Furthermore, it is also the second diamond weighing more than 100 carats to be discovered this year in Lulo.
"The diamond, recovered on June 30, 2023, is the second diamond of more than 100 carats recovered this year in Lulo, after a Type IIa white diamond of 150 carats that was recovered in February 2023", says the company.
