China city will have an exhibition center. Project will create three hundred direct jobs

The China City commercial space will have an exhibition center. The project is budgeted at around five billion kwanzas and will create three hundred direct jobs and around 1000 indirect jobs.

The future centre, whose foundation stone was laid for its construction took place on Sunday, will serve to hold exhibitions in various fields throughout the year. It will be a three-story building with supermarkets, shops and an exhibition hall, in a total construction area of ​​24,000 square meters.

According to Angop, the creation of 300 direct jobs and around 1000 indirect jobs is expected with this space, which will also provide product exhibition platforms for manufacturers and contribute to the evolution of trade.

Speaking on the occasion, Jack Hung, Chairman of the Board of Directors of African Sunrise Investment Group, said that the process of economic recovery and the acceleration of economic diversification will continue to translate into a window of opportunity for companies.

Cited by Angop, the official considered that more and more companies are embarking on a reduction or even giving up on imports, as a result of the improvement in the investment environment, optimized by the Government, which facilitates legal procedures and supports investors.

He also reiterated that several exhibitions will be held annually after the future project is completed, adding that he believes that, under the command of governments and with the help of various branches of society, the future center will become a new highlight of economic and commercial collaboration between Angola. and China, writes to Angop.

The president of the Angola-China Chamber of Commerce, Luís Cupenala, also present at the ceremony, spoke about the investments of the African Sunrise group – 200 million dollars in China City, a shopping center with 400 stores, to which another 5 are added. one billion kwanzas at Kikolo Shopping –, noting that the mobilization of foreign private investment into the country is in line with the practices and strategies of the National Development Plan.

The president of the General Association of Chinese Residents in Angola stressed, for his part, that the new project will meet the consumption needs of the Angolan market, whose prospects are "very promising".

"Chinese compatriots in Angola must carry forward their excellent traditional virtues, work with the Angolan people to build a community with a shared future for humanity", said Pei Wenhua.

He defended, on the other hand, that companies with Chinese financing in Angola "should reinforce the integration of Chinese and Angolan workers".

The ceremony was attended by the Secretary of State of the Ministry of the Interior, José Zau, the deputy governor of Luanda for the economic sector, Lino Mateus Sebastião, the municipal administrator of Viana, Demétrio de Sepúlveda, among others.
