The information was provided by Nerethz Tati, administrator of the General Tax Administration (AGT).
The official was speaking on the sidelines of the 1st session of the National Committee for Trade Facilitation (CNFC), stating that this new method will facilitate the import and export chain, avoiding the repeated filling of documents.
According to Nerethz Tati, quoted by Angop, the objective is to "guarantee that the DU reflects exactly the same form that the definitive DU contemplates, allowing the fields to be the same". This change was made within the scope of the Integrated Platform for Foreign Trade, which is already in force.
She also explained that with this process, it will be possible to reduce the filling stages at the level of all operators in the import/export chain, while allowing for a more assertive inspection.
According to the AGT technical team that has been developing the tool, this process could come into effect in the short term. "It is expected that, as of this month of July, the Instituto Modernização Administrativa will be able to guarantee that the platform has the conditions created for the form to come into force in August and September", said the official.
Presiding over the session, the Minister of Industry and Commerce praised the measure, highlighting the importance of this agreement for the sector in the country. According to Vitor Fernandes, the agreement requires the adoption of various international instruments and practices that will now be implemented in the country and that will facilitate the logistics chain of foreign trade.
