On the occasion, the minister said that this award is not just hers, but that of the entire economic team of the Government of Angola and the work teams of each of the bodies that comprise it.
"Faces not so visible, but behind the scenes they give their all so that we can achieve results. It is a journey with some victories, but we still have many challenges ahead and we understand this award as a refreshment of spirits and energies to continue giving our better for this Angola, for the Angolans who trust us and hope that we can put all our energy and knowledge at the service of improving their living conditions".
For the Executive Director of ADB, this is recognition for the work that the Minister of Finance has performed, especially with regard to the growth of the national economy.
The act also served as a formal presentation of the newly appointed João Luís Ngimbe, a senior staff member of the Ministry of Finance, to serve as Executive Director of the Constitution for Angola, Namibia, Zimbabwe and Mozambique of the African Development Bank (AfDB), during the 2022-2025 cycle.
During the presentation ceremony, the finance minister said that the ADB contributed to the existence of "a portfolio of investment projects consisting of 10 projects, totaling US$1024 billion in various instruments, and in June 2022 the portfolio presented a disbursement rate of more than 20 percent".
Judith Kateera guaranteed that the institution will continue to support the diversification of the Angolan economy, also assisting the private sector, whose action will be followed by her replacement.
During her stay, the official visited the 'Mercado dos Kwanzas', to see the achievements of the Informal Economy Reconversion Program (PREI), where she checked the process of registering street vendors and greengrocers. They are being included in the AGT's Integrated Tax Management System, Social Security registration, as well as training for business and entrepreneurship monitoring, with a view to training beneficiaries in income management and access to the microcredit provided for in the program.
At the end of her term, Judith Kateera also held a private meeting with the minister, in order to review the status of the implementation of all projects financed by this financial institution in the country, says a statement from the Ministry of Finance to which the VerAngola had access.
The ADB aims to stimulate sustainable economic development and social progress in its regional member countries, thus contributing to poverty reduction.
