Carlos Alberto Ferreira Pinto, former Ombudsman, died

Carlos Alberto Ferreira Pinto, former ombudsman of Justice, died this Friday in Luanda, victim of illness. The death of the former ombudsman was announced by João Lourenço, at the meeting of MPLA's Political Bureau, according to the Minister of State for Social Affairs, Carolina Cerqueira.

Quoted by Angop, the governor said that this is a time of sadness.

In turn, Manuel Nunes Júnior, Minister of State for Economic Coordination, considered that it was lost "a comrade of a professionalism of high rigor".

Also cited by Angop, Virgílio de Fontes Pereira, president of MPLA's parliamentary group, classified the death of the former ombudsman as "sad and tragic".

He also said that Carlos Alberto Ferreira Pinto played the ombudsman position with devotion and defended that he still had much to give to Angola.

Salomão Xirimbimbo, MPLA deputy, said that he had lost "a personal friend, a companion from the party and from the parliament, who served the country.

Finally, the vice-president of the National Assembly, Carlota Dias, considered that Angola has lost a very competent and organized person.
