Total E&P Angola offers rural solar electrification systems to Angolan association and diocese

Total E&P Angola donated two rural solar electrification systems to the Mulemba Association and the Diocese of Luena. The action, as part of the company's social responsibility policy, aims to meet the energy needs of schools and homes.

In a statement sent to VerAngola, Total E&P Angola said that the Mulemba Association, in the urban district of Viana, in Luanda, was one of the beneficiaries of the donation.

The association received a rural solar electrification system, in order to meet "the energy needs of a school with 30 classrooms, housing for the directors and teachers and the Vivência Feliz shelter center".

The note adds that the system of the association has a capacity of 36 KWM of power, counting with 96 modules of photovoltaic panels.

The Diocese of Luena, in Moxico, has received a solar container with a capacity of 72 KWM with 192 photovoltaic panel modules.

This container will serve to meet the needs of "a school with 8 classrooms, housing, and a girls' orphanage with about 70 beds.

Olivier Jouny, Country Chair of TotalEnergies in Angola and General Manager of Total E&P Angola, quoted in the note, wished the beneficiaries to enjoy "this renewable energy in a conscious and responsible way."

"Today we are a company in full energy transition, with a history in Angola of about 70 years standing out in this presence the Social Responsibility projects. Total E&P Angola has today 34 projects in 12 provinces of the country, based on 4 main areas: Youth - Education, Sports and Entrepreneurship, Environment, Culture and Heritage, and Socio-Economic Support to the communities", he added.
