The company says that this infrastructure represents "world excellence with regard to the processes of receiving the field, preparing, packaging and dispatching bananas".
With the capacity to package 60 tonnes of products per day, the packaging unit aims to provide the markets, national and export, with a product that "complies with all the quality requirements required by the consumer".
Thus, the company's managing partner, João Amaral, re-affirmed that Fazenda Girassol is in a position to start exporting bananas and papayas to Europe, with special emphasis on Portugal and France, starting next month. August.
In 2020, 238 hectares of land were cultivated on the farm - 140 for bananas and 98 for papaya - with the support of 1237 workers, only 27 foreigners.
Fazenda Girassol is a private initiative project, founded by two Angolan agricultural engineers. It has an area of 9000 hectares, supplying horticultural products to the national market. In addition to bananas and papayas, it also produces pineapple, vegetables, legumes, passion fruit, citrus fruit, on a large scale, among other products.
