The structure, about ten meters long and weighing more than four tons, was assembled on the Marcellin Dias rail so that a building could be built. However, the work on one was finished and the crane remains on site.

According to Jornal de Angola, the residents do not know who owns the nine-storey building that was being built by Bryvania.

The construction work has been at a standstill for four years, but the residents assure us that the crane has been there for six years. The fear that the structure will fall is constant: "When it rains heavily or when there are strong winds, the metallic structure moves, taking away the sleep of the residents," indicated one of the residents to the newspaper Jornal de Angola.

The residents complain about the degradation of the crane and say the structure is putting people's lives in danger. To try to solve the situation, the residents got in touch with Roberto Talaya, a former resident of the Maculusso district, who for 34 years in the area has helped to solve the problems of that region.

In statements to the same newspaper, Roberto Talaya indicated that the local government is aware of the crane, reaffirming that the structure is unstable, shaking when there is rain and wind.

Eduardo Hossana, who has lived in the area for 38 years, considered that "the provincial government should not only be concerned with the removal of vehicles on public roads, but also with the removal of objects that give the city a bad appearance and endanger the lives of citizens".

Victor Manuel, another resident who lives in front of the building where the crane is, said it is "difficult to sleep when it is windy or raining because the crane moves throughout the night".

Rui Duarte, administrator of Ingombota, said that the 'Grua do Maculusso' is known to the administration and has already visited the site to try to find solutions for its removal and assured that the technicians of the IPGUL- Institute of Planning and Urban Management of Luanda - "were to provide the contact of the person in charge of the building, in order to notify and force the contractor to give treatment to the metal structure, remove it or continue the work.

The director of the Urban Planning and Management Institute of Luanda, António Bunga, said he has also visited the site and in the next few days will speak about the work in order to solve the problem that "torments" the residents of Malucusso.
