In a statement, that police force said that the 45-year-old man was arrested on Tuesday, outside the city of Sal Rei, suspected of sexually abusing two minors, aged 11 and 15.
The suspect was heard in the local court, which ordered him to be remanded in custody until trial.
The Judiciary Police also reported they seized 1033 grams of cannabis on the same island of Boa Vista and apprehended a 28-year-old man who was born on the island of Santiago for suspected drug trafficking.
The detainee was remanded in custody after being heard in court, according to the Cape Verdean forensic police.
