According to the order signed on June 4 by João Lourenço, the hiring will be done through the simplified hiring procedure (direct adjustment), aiming to ensure "medical assistance to the populations at the level of public health units throughout the national territory".

Another objective is to guarantee specialized training for Angolan doctors "due to the urgency in ensuring the continuity of hospital services".

Antex is the group that represents the Cuban government in Angola and is responsible for hiring Cuban professionals who will work abroad.

Angola, which has 2.48 doctors for every 10,000 inhabitants, has resorted to hiring foreign doctors to make up for the shortage of professionals in the health sector, with a focus on Cubans.

Angola also has doctors of other nationalities, through cooperation agreements with countries such as China, Portugal and Brazil, which collaborate on training and technical support programs.
