Port of Luanda with a turnover of more than 13 billion kwanzas in the first quarter of the year

The Port of Luanda closed the first quarter of this year with a turnover of around 13.3 billion dollars. This volume corresponds to minus four percent compared to the same period of 2022.

Chilala Moco:

Among the company's prospects is a business grant per year of 56 billion kwanzas, according to the budget projection, says a statement from the entity, which is to be congratulated on its 78 years.

There are several points highlighted by the company's statement - quoted by Angop -, including progress in various sectors, such as in the areas of environmental management, operational efficiency, staff training and digitization, as well as investment in infrastructure, equipment and means and also the construction of the cabotage wharf and the maritime control tower, in normal course.

The note also makes reference to governance and sustainability. Here, the insertion, in the company's organic structure, of the sustainability and 'compliance' department is highlighted, which strengthened the commitment with integrity and ethics, writes Angop.

The communiqué, cited by Angop, also stresses that a plan is being implemented, aimed at aligning decisions, projects and actions with the institution's purposes.

The efforts of employees to build a better company in pursuit of their mission is also highlighted in the document, which has the signature of Alberto Bengue, chairman of the Board of Directors (PCA) of the company.

"We believe that competent and happy workers contribute more to the prosperity of the company, as well as to their own professional achievement", indicates the note. Thus, it advances, from this perspective, within the framework of internal corporate social responsibility, the commitment to workers' health remains, via health insurance, among others.

"We would like to thank the retired and active workers, all those who will retire this year, for their contribution to building and consolidating our company", also mentions the statement.

It should be noted that the Port of Luanda – operates in the area of transport, logistics, among others – has a passenger terminal, as well as terminals for general cargo, multipurpose, containers, etc.
