UNITA accuses authorities of crime after disclosure of party president's travel documents

UNITA was outraged this Monday by the disclosure, on social networks, of personal and travel documents of the party president, Adalberto da Costa Júnior, accusing agents of the Emigration Services or State protocol officials of “complicity”.

:

The documents – a ticket to Dubai and the passport of the leader of UNITA – were released after completing the airport formalities, when Adalberto da Costa Júnior boarded a trip abroad on Sunday.

In a note from the Executive Secretariat of the Standing Committee of the Political Commission of UNITA, the largest opposition party expresses its indignation to Angolans and the international community and is convinced that the crime "was only possible with the complicity of agents of the of Emigration or State protocol officials, who had access to their personal documents at 4 de Fevereiro Airport".

Invoking the right to identity, privacy and intimacy, guaranteed by the Constitution, UNITA also stresses that the legislation says that unauthorized disclosure and access to transmitted personal data are punishable by imprisonment.

The note stressed that this constitutes a public crime whose complaint does not depend on the victim, and UNITA asks institutions, especially the Attorney General's Office to "act in strict compliance with the law, exercise its role as holder of the criminal action and present, in the shortest possible time, those guilty of committing this crime".
