Quoted in a statement sent to VerAngola, Tânia Simão, head of the foundation, explained that the "media library is a way to encourage and allow access to books.
According to the statement, knowledge is one of the areas of action of the FPRF, so the network of libraries/media libraries, which is being implemented, appears as a proximity tool for access to books and reading, new technologies and reprography services.
At this moment, the foundation is developing a study to characterize the population to be served by this 1st library. Knowing the age, schooling and reading habits is determinant to provide a service as adjusted as possible, the note adds.
According to the statement, since education is the foundation's main basis for action, this area of knowledge will also be a fundamental pillar for social integration, which is achieved this way. It should be noted that this is another of the major areas that the founder has prioritized in the course of her personal, academic and professional life.
The foundation is a non-profit legal entity under private law. Constituted in 2017, it was in 2018 that the Foundation materialized its main project - the Sarico Elementary School, for more than 300 students - being in the process of completion the expansion of the school, to double its capacity, with a second pole, an objective that had been defined in 2019, in order to respond to the longings of the families of the Bengo Province, not served by any educational establishment.
The school also opened, in February 2019, to adult literacy, currently attended by nearly two dozen people.
