Covid-19: Angola with three deaths and 128 new cases in the last 24 hours

Angola has counted three deaths associated with covid-19, 128 new infections by the new coronavirus, and 319 recovered, in the last 24 hours, the Health Ministry said Wednesday.

The epidemiological bulletin of the National Directorate of Public Health, for the last 24 hours, said that the cases were recorded in Luanda (91), Huambo (15), Huila (6), Kwanza Norte (6), Namibe (4), Malanje (2), Bié (2) and Cuando Cubango (2), with ages between 1 and 81 years, being 67 males and 61 females.

In the reporting period, three deaths were reported, two male and one female, aged between 31 months and 59 years, in the provinces of Huambo (2) and Luanda (1).

The recovered patients are aged between 1 month and 75 years, mostly in Luanda (282), followed by Huíla (21), Huambo (8), Bengo (3), Malanje (2), Benguela (2) and Bié (1).

With these data, Angola now has a total of 38.002 positive cases, 878 deaths, 32.322 recovered and 4802 active, of which 16 in critical condition, 24 severe, 40 moderate, 30 mild and 4692 asymptomatic, with 110 people hospitalized, 74 others in institutional quarantine and under epidemiological surveillance 2323 contacts.

The laboratories processed 1317 samples by RT-PCR, being the cumulative of 632,927 samples processed to date, with a positivity rate of 6 percent.

At Luanda's entry and exit points, 327 people were tested on the antigen test basis in the past 24 hours.

The covid-19 pandemic has caused at least 3,884,538 deaths worldwide, resulting from more than 179 million officially diagnosed cases of infection, according to the balance made by the French agency AFP.

The respiratory disease is caused by the new SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus, detected in late 2019 in Wuhan, a city in central China.
