In a statement, the club simply thanked the Portuguese coach for his dedication to the team.
“Thank you, Professor Ricardo Chéu, for your dedication and professionalism. Good luck on your journey,” it wrote.
Chéu signed with the Angolan club a year ago, before the start of the current 2024/2025 season, replacing his compatriot Alexandre Santos.
The Portuguese coach was the target of several criticisms from the club's members, fans and the press, due to the team's premature withdrawal from the African Football League in September 2024, after taking charge of the team, despite winning the Angolan Super Cup.
In the Girabola, Petro de Luanda remains the leader, with 59 points, the result of 17 wins, eight draws and one defeat, with three rounds remaining in the national football championship.
