In statements to the Lusa news agency, an official source from the Portuguese Government's Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MNE) explained that the traffic accident, which occurred on Saturday morning on the "Sumbe to Luanda road", left two Portuguese nationals dead, a man and his underage daughter.

“The accident was caused by a truck that hit the car. The driver, a man, and his underage daughter died”, stated the source from the MNE.

A woman, who appears to be the driver's mother, and another son, a son, of the driver, were also travelling in the car that crashed, added the same source.

Both were taken to the “hospital and are under observation”.

The Consulate General of Portugal in Benguela and the Honorary Consulate of Portugal in Lubango are monitoring the situation, added the same source from the MNE.
