The centre, which was opened in the presence of the governor of Cabinda, Suzana Abreu, is located in the building of the Maternal and Child Hospital of the province.
"The Logistics Centre is located in the building of the Maternal and Child Hospital of Cabinda (Dispensary), with the capacity to store around 2000 boxes of vaccines, including freezers, refrigeration and bags with a capacity for 100 doses", informs the provincial government of Cabinda, in a statement to which VerAngola had access.
In addition to witnessing the opening of this centre, the provincial governor also handed over rolling and vaccine storage equipment.
"The governor of Cabinda, Suzana Abreu, witnessed, on Monday afternoon, the start of operations of the first Logistics Centre of the Expanded Vaccination Programme (PAV) and proceeded to hand over rolling and vaccine storage equipment", says the statement.
On the occasion, Suzana Abreu also delivered "cooling chests with solar panels to the municipalities of Miconje, Massabi, Tando-Zinze and Necuto", as well as delivering chests for storing vaccines to the municipalities of Cabinda and Buco-Zau.
"Suzana Abreu also delivered a Toyota Land Cruiser vehicle to the Health sector, donated by the Japanese Government, as part of the good relations" between the two countries, "following the visit of the President of the Republic, João Lourenço, to that country".
"The vehicle, equipped with a cooling system, will transport, store and distribute vaccines throughout the province", reads the note, which adds that "the Health sector in Cabinda also received motorbikes, which will reinforce the transport of vaccines and actions to combat cholera throughout the province".
On the occasion, the provincial governor "urged the sector to take care of the resources made available, so that the population, the main beneficiary, can continue to feel the impact of the public investments that are being implemented by the Executive".
According to the statement, the PAV Logistics Center is "an initiative of the provincial government of Cabinda that aims to improve the conservation and distribution of vaccines within the framework of the PAV in Cabinda".
