The initiative, called Operation Kissonde, "is part of the strategy of raising funds for sustainable projects, with a focus on the development of water infrastructure, aiming to reinforce water security, with a direct impact on the supply of drinking water, agricultural irrigation and other economic activities", according to a statement from the Ministry of Finance (Minfin).

The operation will be carried out through the 'bookbuilding' format, in which a market consultation will be carried out, and the final interest rate will be defined based on the analysis of proposals from interested investors.

The debt securities, with maturities of five and eight years, are scheduled to mature on February 15, 2029 and September 15, 2031.

The operation takes place between May 26 and June 4 this year.

The province of Namibe is experiencing a situation of recurring drought, due to the semi-arid climate and irregular rainfall.
