"With this project we can improve the entire chain of public administrative intervention in the different branches, from local to central level, so that the State - private sector relationship is more pleasant", stated the Minister of State and Chief of Staff of the President of Republic, Adão de Almeida.

The government official, who was speaking at the opening of the seventh edition of the International Tourism Exchange (BITUR) 2024, which began this Thursday in the province of Huíla, promised continuous work to improve the business environment and challenged operators to work with authorities for the preparation, approval and execution of "Simplifica Turismo".

The minister also assured that the authorities will continue to work to improve crucial infrastructure for boosting tourism, pointing to examples such as the new António Agostinho Neto International Airport and projects to improve energy supply, water and sanitation systems in cities and increased transport supply.

"The transversality of the tourism sector places it in dependence on other sectors, forcing us to approach its dynamism from outside the sector", he highlighted, adding that the Government must continue to work to create the necessary bases for greater dynamics of domestic tourism.

For Adão de Almeida, Angolans must be the first interested in knowing and exploring the endless tourist potential that Angola has, believing that, if domestic tourism is a vibrant reality, "foreign tourism will more easily emerge".

On the other hand, he also ensured continuous work, aiming for greater investment in training offers for the tourism sector and greater professionalization of staff.

The minister of State reiterated that the executive wants to transform tourism into a relevant area of the country's economy, therefore counting on private participation.

"Tourism is the same as the private sector. The role of the public sector must be limited to regulation, promotion, encouragement and the elimination of difficulties. Without an attentive, bold and interested private sector there will be no tourism", he concluded.

"Tourism as a determining factor for the diversification of the economy in Angola" is the motto of the seventh edition of BITUR 2024, which runs until Saturday in the province of Huíla.
