The Luanda Science Center will promote traditional culture with the project 'Estórias no Imbondeiro', which will combine the reading of stories, traditional proverbs and debates on topics related to Angolan tradition, with videomapping projections, some of a scientific nature.
Therefore, on the last Saturday of each month, the center will invite the public to immerse themselves in Angolan oral culture with 'Estórias no Imbondeiro', with the first session scheduled for May 25th.
The session starts at 6pm, at the Luanda Science Center.
The first edition of the initiative will be animated by writer, journalist and university professor José Luís Mendonça, who will guide the session using traditional national tales chosen by him.
After reading and representing the stories, using the gestural and body choreography typical of orality and technological platforms, the audience will be invited to participate in a conversation with the speaker, as well as to show their story-telling talents.
The project is inspired by the Angolan oral tradition and the centuries-old baobab tree from the old Soap Factory, around which the public will sit during the sessions.
Although they are open to all ages, sessions require reservations. To reserve a place, interested parties must register via email at estorias@ccl.ao or go to the reception at the Luanda Science Center.
