According to a statement from Energy Capital & Power, organizer of the conference, the president of Abegás, Luíz Gavazza, participated this week in a meeting at the invitation of the Angola-Brazil Chamber of Commerce (CCBA) to explore collaboration opportunities and evaluate strategic areas of cooperation, such as the expansion of the natural gas sector in Angola.

Luís Gavazza, quoted in the statement, highlighted Brazil's experience in this sector, highlighting that the country's 150-year experience in the use of piped gas can support the development of the gas industry in Angola.

Regulatory and fiscal issues that can reinforce investment in the natural gas market and strategies to encourage the use of gas in various sectors of the economy such as agriculture, industry and urban mobility were also discussed.

The working visit also includes meetings with the national oil and gas concessionaire (ANPG), the Petroleum Derivatives Regulatory Institute and the Brazilian embassy.

The collaboration with CCBA, the conference partner, aims to promote investment by Brazilian companies in Angola, with the chamber facilitating bilateral exchanges of knowledge, trade and investment.

The CCBA was created on 25 August 2023 by Brazilian President Lula da Silva during his visit to Angola.
