BAI – Banco Angolano de Investimento, S.A (Open Society) allocated, for this year, around 3.1 billion kwanzas for social responsibility actions, with the main pillars being education, health and well-being, culture, sport and environment.

According to the president of the Executive Committee, Luís Lélis, the institution has invested, over the years, in corporate social responsibility actions that have impacted the various sectors of society.

Speaking at the Forbes Social Responsibility Awards Angola 2024 awards gala, where the institution was distinguished with an Honorable Mention, BAI's PCE highlighted the approval, by the bank's shareholders, of an annual allocation of one percent of the net banking product relating to exercise of the previous year for social responsibility actions.

The person in charge cited, among other high-impact projects, the BAI Foundation scholarship program, which benefits around 800 scholarship holders, undergoing training at the Higher Institute of Administration and Finance (ISAF).

He also referred to the Aldeia Osivambi Project, in the province of Cunene, where around 500 young people have the opportunity to take classes up to basic education, the aim of which is "to reach 12th grade one day", he stressed.

Luís Lélis highlighted, on the occasion, that BAI's social responsibility program aims to "transform generations" and hopes that these young people benefiting from the bank's projects contribute "to the development of our beautiful country".
