Manuel Homem talks about a criminal network linked to the illegal sale of land

The governor of the province of Luanda denounced this Thursday the existence in the capital of "groups of highly prepared criminals" involved in the invasion, usurpation and illegal sale of land.

:

Manuel Homem included, in the challenges for Luanda, the phenomenon of the illegal sale of land, an embarrassment that involves "administration, provincial government, organized groups".

"In Luanda, today, we have groups that we could consider criminals highly prepared for the invasion of land. But so highly prepared that they are organized with 'bulldozers', trucks, tractors, and they are a group of people with instruments to extort, to forge documents, to invade other people's property", said Manuel Homem.

The governor was speaking to students at Óscar Ribas University about the challenges of Luanda 2023-2027.

According to Manuel Homem, to contrast the picture, there is a program that the provincial government has been implementing for some years now, which has been boosted again, which is the Unified Command Post, to equip the institutions that work in the process of attributing surface rights and land management, the capacity to monitor this phenomenon, "which today, unfortunately, continues to be a drama in the province of Luanda for many families, many companies, many citizens".

"The problem is not only with the inspectors - they are not saints either, it is true - but the phenomenon that has been created behind this network, is a dangerous network, which must be fought, to which due attention must be paid so that we can restore the authority of the State along these lines", he stressed.

The governor expressed confidence in the policies that are being implemented in order to control the problem of land invasion.

"This Unified Command Post should come into operation in the next few days, the teams are currently working so that, with this, we can better support the themes of Luanda", he indicated.
