According to a note released this Wednesday by António Costa's office, the visit is at the invitation of João Lourenço and "aims at strengthening bilateral relations between Portugal and Angola at the political, economic and cultural level".

The "appreciation of areas such as engineering and construction, agri-food, energy and tourism" will be highlighted during António Costa's two-day stay in Angola.

The last official visit of the head of the Portuguese Government to Angola took place in September 2018.

After the visit to Angola, António Costa leaves for South Africa, where he will participate, on the 7th of June, in the program of commemorations of the Day of Portugal with the Portuguese community residing there, together with the President of the Republic.
