Man who tried to travel with children with passports of other minors arrested in Luanda

The Migration and Foreigners Service detained a man who was preparing to travel to Lisbon, taking two minors who presented passports that belonged to other children.

:

The three people were stopped by the SME at 4 de Fevereiro International Airport, who approached the Angolan, who was carrying the two minors, aged 15 and 12, and verified the false identities during the verification of documents, according to the Public Television of Angola (TPA).

According to an official at the SME, it was found that the passports were real, but belonged to other children, indicating that these could be crimes of illegitimate use of passports or trafficking in human beings.

The man intended to reach Paris through Lisbon, said the same source.

"Any citizen who tries to use a fraudulent document or forge documentation to travel, through the airport or another border point, we are prepared for this situation", said the head of the SME.

The case was handed over to the Public Ministry to investigate the criminal offenses.

The authorities are going to try to determine the responsibilities of other actors who facilitated the scheme and call on Angolan families to be "more careful with the travel processes for minors".
