According to a statement from the Criminal Investigation Service (SIC), the four men, three Guineans from Guinea-Conakry and one Angolan, aged between 27 and 59 years, were detected at the time of boarding, as they were preparing to travel to Addis Ababa, capital of Ethiopia.
In addition to the SIC, elements of the Customs Fiscal Police, the State Intelligence and Security Service (SINSE), the General Tax Administration (AGT) and the Migration and Foreigners Services (SME) were involved in the operation.
Angolan law only allows you to carry a maximum of 10,000 dollars without informing the tax authorities.
Anyone who leaves the country with higher amounts will have to provide declarations on the origin of the funds, as well as how they were acquired, by completing an official form from the authorities.
