The announcement of the film's release was made by Micaela Reis, on her official Instagram page.
"I am overjoyed to announce the release of the film 'JOIA'," she wrote.
"The premiere of the film 'JOIA' produced and written by me and directed by Jonathan Samukange will have its premiere on the 25th of May at Cinemax", added the actress.
According to Micaela Reis, the feature film "is a drama inspired by an exciting true story" of a young Angolan girl who experienced a period "of great conflict in the province of Benguela, municipality of Bocoio and in the face of various dangers, their courage, determination, hope and love were fundamental to face and overcome what seemed impossible to overcome".
Regarding film production, the actress says that it started in Bocoio with "a motivated technical team" and a cast composed of "actresses and actors from different experiences and very talented".
"Cinematographic production began in Bocoio, with a whole motivated technical team and a fabulous cast made up of actresses and actors with different experiences and very talented, all the players are from various parts of Angola", she said, adding that the process of selection of castings were carried out in Luanda and Benguela by Associação Cultural Impacto Criativo (ACIC).
"ACIC- Associação Cultural Impacto Criativo aims to impact society through the arts, provide, design multidisciplinary training, talent refinement, high quality training and creation, promotion, recognition and appreciation of talent through cinematographic works produced by ACIC", said Micaela Reis, who promised to share the trailer in the "next days"
