The Government has established a partnership with the University of Campinas (Unicamp) in Brazil for the training of Angolan graduates and masters in the fields of medical and health sciences, it was announced this Monday.

The partnership was established as part of the visit that a delegation from the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Technology and Innovation made between 24 and 28 May 2022 to the city of São Paulo, according to a note released this Monday.

The ministry says that the visit, as part of the annual program to send 300 Angolan graduates/masters with high performance and academic merit to the best universities in the world, aimed at getting to know the reality of the host institutions and the performance of Angolan scholarship holders.

According to the same source, the Angolan delegation, headed by the national director of Higher Education, met with the management of Unicamp and with the management of the institution's Faculty of Medical Sciences.

"These were unanimous in offering postgraduate training opportunities to Angolan university professors in doctoral and medical specialization", reads the note.

The Angolan delegation also met with the management of the School of Continuing Education of the Hospital das Clínicas of the Faculty of Medicine of the University of São Paulo, where they noted that the performance of Angolan doctors in training "is positive".

Motivating and mobilizing Angolan scholarship students for "good performance and returning to the country after their training" and exploring possibilities for cooperation between the host institutions and the Government were other objectives of the visit.
