Luanda registers seven dead and four injured at the weekend due to road accidents

Road accidents resulted in the death of seven people and the injury of four others, in Luanda, over the weekend, which also resulted in material damage estimated at more than 11 million kwanzas.

According to data from the Public Security Situation in the last 72 hours of the National Police in Luanda, 14 accidents were recorded, highlighting the occurrence of seven of them being run over, presumably resulting from the lack of precaution of public road users in general. .

As part of the regularization and inspection of motor traffic, five vehicles, 24 motorized, were apprehended, with 352 motorist citizens being fined for various infractions of the Highway Code.

The balance of police activities over the weekend further advances the detention of 134 citizens, presumed to be the perpetrators of various crimes, as well as the seizure of 11 firearms, seven of which are AKM machine guns and four pistols.

The police also highlighted the application of fines to 47 citizens for disobedience to the mandatory use of a face mask, in accordance with the covid-19 prevention measures.
