Country to have new Economic and Food Safety Inspection Authority

The President of the Republic approved the installation commission of the National Authority for Economic Inspection and Food Safety (ANIESA), which will become the sole entity for the exercise of the inspection activity and improve the business environment.

:

The Presidential Order, published in Diário da República on Tuesday, considers that the current stage of public administration is characterized by the existence of several inspection structures, which act in an overlapping manner on economic activities and product quality control.

The document states that the installation commission is created in view of the need to establish, within the framework of the measures resulting from the reform of the State, a single entity for the exercise of said inspection activity, within the scope of improving the business environment, "avoiding administrative constraints and embarrassments on economic agents ".

The commission coordinated by the Secretary of the President of the Republic for State Reform and which includes representatives from the Ministries of Public Administration, Labor and Social Security, Economy and Planning, deputy coordinators, Interior, Territorial Administration, Finance, Agriculture and Fisheries , Industry and Commerce, Culture, Tourism and Environment and Health, has 90 days to present the final report.

Within that period, its members, who are exempt from activities in the respective ministerial departments, will, among various tasks, create administrative and material conditions for the functioning of ANIESA, register the employees of the inspection services to be integrated, who belong to the staff of special and general careers and propose the revenue management model to be collected by the new structure.
