Oil: incomes grew 10 percent in April over the previous month

Although covid-19 negatively affected oil production, the figures are encouraging: in April, revenue from national oil production grew by 10 per cent compared to March.

Oil production last month yielded the country 432.5 billion kwanzas. In March, the accounts closed with a balance of 392.7 billion kwanzas. After the accounts were closed, revenues grew 10 percent in April.

According to the newspaper Mercado, the oil company Sonangol contributed 263.4 billion kwanzas to this revenue. The remaining amount resulted from the Oil Income Tax (160.7 billion kwanzas) and the Oil Production Tax (8.3 billion kwanzas).

Last month 44.5 million barrels were exported with an average price of 27.75 dollars. In March 38.8 million barrels were exported at an average price of 54.97 dollars.

The good news continues: April revenues are also higher than in February (27.8 billion kwanzas).

Since the beginning of the year, January was the month with the best results, and April production was below that mark at 127.8 billion kwanzas.
