In almost two years, the country has received more than 250 private investment proposals

Between August 2018 and April 2020, the Private Investment and Export Promotion Agency (AIPEX) registered 269 private investment proposals in the country. These proposals should create a total of 18,619 new jobs.

According to the AIPEX report, cited by Angop, several sectors of the country received investment bids: the industry received the most bids, totaling 116 offers. Trade followed with 66 offers and the provision of services with 53 bids.

The construction (8), education (3), health (4), hotels and tourism (4), fisheries (3) and agriculture (12) sectors also had interested investors.

AIPEX predicts that industry will receive the largest amount of money - estimating an investment of more than one billion dollars. The report also indicates that construction is expected to receive about 686 million dollars, followed by agriculture with 199 million dollars. Of the remaining sectors, trade stands out with 138 million and health with 131 million dollars.

Of the 269 proposed investments, 57 are already underway. These 57 initiatives are budgeted at 909 million dollars, according to AIPEX, and 4890 jobs have already been created with these projects.

AIPEX also reveals that 204 projects will be implemented soon in the country and that these will cost more than 1 billion dollars.

Three projects worth 10 million dollars have yet to be implemented. It should be noted that five have given up on investment (worth 33 million dollars).

Among the provinces that most attract investors' attention is Luanda, with 211 bids, Bengo with 12 proposals and Benguela (9).
