Manuel Homem acknowledges “gesture of bravery” when visiting officer and citizen injured in assault

The Minister of the Interior, Manuel Homem, visited this Friday the police officer and the citizen who were injured during an attempted robbery in the Hoji-Ya-Henda area. During the visit, which served to recognize the “gesture of bravery”, the minister was accompanied by the general commander of the Angolan National Police.

According to a statement from the Ministry of the Interior, to which VerAngola had access, the visit to the hospital took place on Friday morning.

"Recognizing the gesture of bravery and the commitment to ensuring public order and tranquility led the Minister of the Interior, Manuel Gomes da Conceição Homem, accompanied by the general commander of the Angolan National Police, Commissioner-General Francisco Monteiro Ribas da Silva, on the morning of this Friday, April 11, to visit 2nd class agent Cláudio Teixeira, who, in the company of other members of the Reaction and Patrol Unit in the municipalities of Hoji-ya-Henda and Cazenga, helped to thwart an attempted armed robbery", says the note.

On the occasion, Manuel Homem also addressed "a word of appreciation" to the citizen who was injured following the assault.

According to the medical team, the injured are stable.

"Following the visit to the Hospital do Prenda, in Luanda, he also addressed a word of appreciation to the Chinese citizen who was also injured in the incident, who, like the agent, is in a stable clinical condition, according to the medical team", reads the note.
