Speaking at a networking meeting for Angola's participation in the summit, held this Wednesday, the Chairman of AIPEX considered that holding the business summit in Luanda "represents a good showcase for companies to take advantage of their internationalization".

Among the various themes to be presented by Angola, Arlindo Rangel highlighted "food security as a priority".

Quoted in a government statement, to which VerAngola had access, the official stated that the country will present "everything that is in the food security sector".

"Angola will present everything that is in the food security sector. We are talking about education, digitalization, agriculture, agro-industry, infrastructure, health, etc. Food security is much more than just food," he pointed out.

Sebastião Gaspar, CEO of Sonangol, guaranteed "adequate preparation for the presentation at the summit of the country's potential and the importance of the company for the national economy".

"We have to do everything we can to present what Sonangol is, which is a company that is present throughout the oil and gas value chain, and now with another leg in the renewable energy sector. We are also present in strategic minerals, so we will logically be able to show a little of everything that we are as a company today and the importance we have for the national economy", said the CEO of the national oil company, quoted in the statement.

Also present at the networking meeting were José de Lima Massano, Minister of State for Economic Coordination, Téte António, Minister of Foreign Affairs, as well as representatives of the diplomatic corps accredited in Angola and the national and international business sector.

The summit, which will take place between June 22 and 25 in Luanda, "seeks to attract investors and strengthen economic partnerships between Africa and the United States and will be attended by numerous delegates, including African heads of state, government leaders, ministers, senior US officials and businesspeople."

It should be recalled that, at the end of last month, Liser Forizelle, president and CEO of the Corporate Council on Africa (CCA), considered that this summit "will be an opportunity for the Trump administration to see what, under the leadership of President João Lourenço, Africa in general, and Angola in particular, can offer in terms of economic and financial development".
