According to data from the authorities, regarding the cholera outbreak that the country has been facing for three months, as of Sunday, nine of the 17 affected provinces have registered new infections, with the highest number of cases reported in Benguela (66), followed by Bengo (28), Cuanza Norte (23), Luanda (21), Malanje (17), Icolo and Bengo (12), Huíla (five), Huambo (two) and Cabinda (one).
Regarding deaths, in the period under analysis, the province of Benguela, as in the cases, also had the highest number of deaths, with four of the eight deaths reported.
In the last 24 hours, 122 people were discharged and 1225 others remain hospitalized with cholera.
The cholera outbreak was declared by the Ministry of Health on January 7 this year.
