According to the Merger Control Statistical Bulletin (BECC) 2024, consulted this Tuesday by Lusa, the entity notified 14 acts of concentration of companies, most of which occurred in the oil sector, followed by banking and industry, and deliberated on 15 acts of concentration (plus one that was carried over from 2023).
The acts notified by ARC all refer to the acquisition, total or partial, of companies and assets, with 100 percent of the deliberations being non-opposition.
The BECC for the 2024 financial year states that of the amount collected as a result of the payment of the concentration assessment fee, 60 percent of the amount was reverted in favor of ARC and the remainder to the Single Treasury Account.
As part of market monitoring, ARC imposed, during this period, a fine worth 262 million kwanzas on two companies in the transport sector, for violating the duty of prior notification to the regulator.
