Lieutenant General José Maria Marques, now with new duties, was previously dismissed from the position of Deputy Commander for Patriotic Education of the Army and Lieutenant General Jaime Manuel Pombo Vilinga from the position of head of the Directorate of Military Studies and Research of the General Staff FAA General.
João Lourenço also signed an order determining that general officers Artur Santos Vinama and João António Santana be retired from active military service and retire, due to age limits.

Na qualidade de Comandante-em-Chefe das FAA, o Presidente assinou também decretos exonerando o general João António Santana do cargo de Chefe de Estado Maior General Adjunto das FAA para a Educação Patriótica e o general Artur Santos Vinama do cargo de Chefe do Estado Maior General Adjunto das FAA para a Área Operacional e Desenvolvimento.
O tenente-general José Maria Marques, agora com novas funções, foi antes exonerado do cargo de Comandante Adjunto para a Educação Patriótica do Exército e o tenente-general Jaime Manuel Pombo Vilinga do cargo de chefe da Direção de Estudos e Investigação Militar do Estado Maior General das FAA.
João Lourenço assinou ainda uma ordem a determinar que sejam licenciados do serviço militar activo e que passem à reforma, por limite de idade, os oficiais generais Artur Santos Vinama e João António Santana.
Essas movimentações nas FAA acontecem um dia depois da realização da primeira reunião do ano do Conselho de Segurança, orientada pelo Presidente angolano, que abordou "temas específicos" ligados à actuação deste órgão, conforme uma nota divulgada.
O Conselho de Segurança Nacional é o órgão de consulta do Presidente da República para assuntos relativos à condução da política e estratégia de Segurança Nacional, bem como à organização, funcionamento e disciplina das Forças Armadas Angolanas, da Polícia Nacional e demais organismos de garantia da ordem constitucional e dos órgãos de inteligência e de segurança do Estado.
