First edition of the Feira da Casa Própria arrives this month in Luanda

This month, the first edition of the Feira da Casa Própria will arrive in the capital. The event will take place on the 27th and 28th of April, in Luanda, with the participation of more than 100 exhibitors – real estate companies, insurance companies, construction companies, construction material factories, investors in the field of civil construction and banks.

"The importance of Social Housing and the Real Estate Sector in the fight against poverty and social exclusion" will be the theme of the fair, which is promoted by Linear Comunicação and whose launch took place this Wednesday.

Thus, the event aims to present people with the opportunities and facilities that builders and real estate agents have for families, informed Alberto Domingos, director of Linear Comunicação, who also added that at the event – where around 10 thousand visitors are expected – some real estate agents will promote discounts between 10 and 15 percent, according to terms and conditions, writes Angop.

For Augusto Fernandes, consultant for the National Housing Institute, the event is an opportunity for families and young people to get their homes or establish contacts.

Linda Liu, assistant general manager of the HS group – official sponsor of the event –, who will present her real estate company, as well as the seven housing projects underway in the capital, announced that the HS group, via its subsidiary Broima, will an investment in the order of 1 billion dollars in six medium and high standard residential projects in three municipalities of the capital, starting in the last three months of this year, writes Angop.

The referred projects foresee the building of more than 2000 houses, as well as a shopping centre, resorting to the generation of 20 thousand jobs, added the official, cited by Angop.

Regarding the construction of social housing or houses with a minimum wage standard, she said that the company has enough capital and is available for the challenge. However, she indicated some obstacles: scarcity of land, VAT on building materials as well as the lack of tax incentives, and for that the Executive will have to interfere in the market effectively in order to reduce the deficit of housing in Angola.
