Deputy PR travels to Lubango for the opening of the IX Meeting of CPLP Ministers of the Environment

Esperança da Costa, Vice-President of the Republic, will travel on Friday, April 28, to Lubango (Huíla), where he will hold the opening session of the IX Meeting of Ministers for the Environment of the Community of Portuguese Speaking Countries (CPLP).

According to a statement sent to VerAngola, the motto of the meeting is "Environmental Emergency in the Current Context of Multiple Crises".

"From the agenda of the meeting, which takes place under the motto "Environmental Emergency in the Current Context of Multiple Crises", the presentation of the proposal entitled "Climate Heritage of Humanity: Process of consultation for the eventual legal recognition with the UN of the "Climate Stable" as a global common good", and interventions by Member State on "Environmental Emergency: Challenges and opportunities", among other points", reads in the statement.

According to the note, "in the framework of privileged monitoring of the environment sector", under the guidance of the President, João Lourenço, the deputy PR "has reaffirmed Angola's position on the need for a common agenda, which privilege the permanent discussion of issues capable of making the Member States of the CPLP more resilient and that reinforces the cooperation between the States for the global challenges for the attainment of sustainability".

In addition, Esperança da Costa has also held meetings "with civil society associations and NGOs that work in favor of environmental sustainability".
