Angola and Brazil will sign an agreement to avoid double taxation

Angola and Brazil will sign this Wednesday in Brasília, during the VII Meeting of the Joint Commission, an agreement to avoid double taxation of profits from international air and maritime transport, announced the Brazilian diplomacy.

At the VII Meeting of the Brazil-Angola Joint Commission, it is also planned to sign memorandums of understanding between the ministries of Health of both countries, and between the civil aviation agencies of Brazil and Angola.

The Brazilian delegation will be headed by the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Mauro Vieira, and the Angolan one, by the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Téte António.

In order to prepare for this meeting, which will culminate in the signing of several agreements, Brazilian diplomacy underlined that over the last few months, working groups from the two delegations have met, focusing on agriculture, economy, transport, education, health and public safety. .

"Angola is home to the largest Brazilian community on the African continent, with around 15,000 people. Many of these compatriots have been living in that country for years, being an integral part of Angolan society, to which they are linked by work and family ties", he recalled. the Itamaraty.

In addition, underlined the Brazilian authorities, "the great interest of Angolans in visiting, studying and working in Brazil made the Embassy in Luanda the second largest post of the Brazilian consular network abroad in terms of the movement of visa granting".

Brazilian diplomacy also emphasized the fact that Angola is one of the main countries on the African continent.

In 2022, Brazilian exports to Angola amounted to US$639 million, an increase of 56.9 percent compared to 2021, and imports were US$765 million, an increase of 352 percent.

"Brazil's exports to Angola include meat (17 percent) and parts and accessories for motor vehicles (16 percent). oil or bituminous minerals (34 percent)", stressed the Brazilian diplomacy.
