Central bank says that “Investimento.ao” is not qualified for financial activity

The National Bank of Angola (BNA) announced on Friday that the entity “Investimento.ao” is not authorized to carry out any financial activity in the country subject to its supervision, namely the provision of financial services, deposit capture and monetary investments.

According to the BNA, in a statement, the entity, dedicated to providing financial services, "is not licensed" by the regulator to carry out any activities within the scope of the Angolan financial system.

The central bank therefore appeals to banking financial institutions and the general public to refrain from establishing any business relationship with "Investimento.ao".

The regulatory and supervisory body of the financial system also urges prosecutors to refrain from performing any act that could be qualified as a very serious contravention, foreseen and punishable under the legislation in force.

The BNA controls 23 banking financial institutions, 34 exchange offices, 27 exchange offices authorized to carry out activities of remittance of values, 20 microcredit companies, 16 companies providing payment services, two funds, namely to support agrarian development and credit guarantee.

A credit cooperative, two representative offices of foreign banks and a payment services operating company are also authorized to operate in Angola.
