Invited to talk about the past of mining in Angola, present and perspectives, Diamantino Azevedo asked for "win-win" cooperation from British mining entrepreneurs, to whom he advanced that "the country's legal and legal basis is attractive but can still be improved".
"We want Angola not only to be a producer of raw materials, but also to invest in local processing," he said, quoted in a statement from the Ministry of Mineral Resources, Oil and Gas.
Looking to the future of industry and global economies, the minister said that one should not talk about an energy transition "without hydrocarbons and other mineral resources", given that "Angola has resources for the energy transition and the digital transition" very in vogue.
Referring to the advances given for the geological knowledge of the country, Diamantino Azevedo announced the inauguration of the third laboratory included in the National Geology Plan for the end of April.
"The third laboratory (of Saurimo) will be inaugurated at the end of next April and, in parallel, we are building and equipping two other laboratories, one in Huila and the other in Lunda Sul", he advanced.
