According to a note posted on Facebook from the Presidency, Christophe Apala, who is also the Deputy Prime Minister of the DRC, took advantage of the meeting to deliver a written message from the President of his country, Félix Antoine Tshisekedi, to João Lourenço.
The audience also served to inform João Lourenço – also acting president of the International Conference on the Great Lakes Region (CIRGL) – about the appearance of the M23 armed group (considered extinct four years ago) in the DRC.
In addition to Christophe Apala, the head of state also received this Monday the secretary general of the Socialist International, Luís Willibald Ayala Longe, who highlighted the progress made by the country in recent years.
