The project for the park, which will produce "clean and cheap" electricity for Moxico, should start in two months, the date scheduled for the end of the demining work in the project's implementation space.

According to Angop, the works – under the responsibility of the companies Sun Africa, MCA Angola and Portugal and valued at 39,128,525 dollars (36,973,000 euros) – are expected to be completed within a two-year time frame.

Joaquim Ventura, chairman of PRODEL's Board of Directors, quoted by Angop, considered that the project will reduce fuel costs at thermal power plants. Speaking at the consignment ceremony, the official also considered that the park will generate jobs for young people in the region.

He also made it known that the infrastructure will only work during the day and that at night it will be replaced by thermoelectric and hydroelectric plants.

He also took the opportunity to announce that similar projects will also be installed in the provinces of Lunda Sul and Norte.

In turn, Gonçalves Muandumba, governor of Moxico, classified the construction of the project as a way for small local industries to appear and grow, writes Angop.
