Muxima Fortress is located in the village of Muxima, Luanda province.
The fortress was built by the Portuguese to defend goods and slaves.
In 1924, it was classified as a National Monument. Near the Church of Nossa Senhora da Conceição da Muxima, the fortress lay in ruins, having been restored in 2008.
