FAB announces in advance called up to the selection. Conquest of the African Championship is objective

In a press conference held in Luanda, the direction of the Angolan Basketball Federation (FAB) announced that it has Bruno Fernando, Sílvio de Sousa, Miguel Rifen, Selton Miguel, Erick Amândio and Valdir Victoriano - all currently playing in the USA - and still with Yanick Moreira, coming from Greece.

Players are expected to arrive in the country to fulfill their duties with the national team on 15 May. The athletes who line up in national teams will be called up on May 25, announced the president of the Federation, José Moniz Silva.

In a first phase, 30 players will be pre-summoned, said the official, quoted by Angop.

The objective was well defined: the conquest of the African championship, which takes place between 17 and 29 August in Yaoundé, Cameroon.

Before, the selection will dispute the qualification for the Olympic Games in Kaunas, Lithuania.

The preparation of the 'Palancas Negras' for the competitions officially begins on June 1st, and five days later the selection goes to Barcelona, ​​in Spain, for an internship.

The players of Petro de Luanda, the current national champion, will only join the group after their participation in the African Club League, which takes place between 16 and 30 May in Kigali, Rwanda, has ended.

Also this Wednesday, the FAB announced the hiring of the Spanish coach Josep Clarós to lead the selection, replacing the Brazilian José Neto.
